Terra Minds: STEAM Hands-on Learning for Kids

Terra Minds is a place where inquisitive young minds and budding scientists come together. It engages students through the perfect combination of hands-on learning and cognitive application of scientific concepts, delivered in a warm and encouraging educational setting. My elder daughter, Halena started with Terra Minds in 2014 and we have never looked back. The dedicated teachers and staff have consistently delivered an excellent educational experience for her. Halena eagerly looks forward to attending her weekly Junior Science classes where Science comes alive! I will continue to entrust Terra Minds with the task of cultivating and developing Halena’s love for science.

A highly professional team of educators with a sound knowledge of S.T.E.M approach to teaching in this 21st century. Yokie and her team consistently demonstrated their expertise to customize personalised workshops that are age appropriate and engaging for our 4–6-year-olds. Yokie is passionate about her beliefs in education and is always patient with enquiries. We are pleased to have engaged them annually for our Science TECH inquiry project. Thank you Terra Minds for the engaging and well-conducted Robot Dash, Science Hydraulics and Lab Tests workshops. The kids really learnt something and had a meaningful experience. Teachers were experienced, materials were good and the children loved it! Thanks once again!

Isabelle loves the fact that she is able to do most of the virtual lessons on her own and it provided a sense of achievement for her. This is something that was truly lacking in this CB/HBL period as she felt her coursework are just so mundane and repetitive with no new learning. Thank you for igniting such interest and excitement in her, it is something I have not seen in a while.

Terra Minds has provided an excellent robotics workshop for our Junior level students (aged 7 to 11) from MINDS using Robot Dash. The team of trainers were passionate as well as patient in their teaching and ensured our students are able to get the best learning during the workshops. Students were fully engaged and the trainers even made the effort to adapt the curriculum and implement various teaching strategies on the spot in order to support our students with special needs. We would like to thank Terra Minds for the wonderful and novel learning experience for our students in which they learn while having the best fun!

Thank you. My child enjoyed himself during the entire science workshop. We would definitely attend more science workshops in the future. Good for Primary 1 students to prepare and learn science before they go for Primary 3. This will widen their knowledge and be more aware of their surroundings.

Terra Minds and Jessin have been collaborating for about 4 years now and I must say that I am very pleased with their programmes as well as their teachers. My students look forward to seeing their teacher, and always anticipate gaining new scientific knowledge each week! Keep up the good work! :-) It is worthwhile mentioning that the lessons are professionally delivered, and good class management. This is something that mainstream schools should learn - one teacher focused on delivering content, and the other help with the technical aspects of managing the class *thumbs up!*

Working with Yokie has been one of the most amazing and smooth experiences I have encountered while working with external vendors. Despite the multiple revisions needed for the proposal, the numerous calls we had to tidy up the details and the incessant requests I have made to Yokie, she remained absolutely unfazed, patient and responsive, even over the weekends. Kudos to her that my school event went smoothly and well, with positive feedback from my management as well as peers. It has been a wonderful and pleasant experience working with Yokie and I certainly will recommend her to my colleagues should they need help with their events! Thanks Yokie!

It is clear that the teachers truly enjoy interacting and sharing their passion with the children. They are warm, patient and enthusiastic, easily igniting the interest of the students in Science concepts in everyday life. The Junior Science Programmes are age-appropriate and the best part of the classes are the weekly hands-on activities. Students get excited about the lesson and are able to grasp the concepts easier. My daughter will explain and share what she has learnt that day with us, being able to use subject-specific terms in her re-telling. She enjoys the activities, friends and teachers! It's comfortable and almost like a second home!

I am very supportive of Terra Minds Young Scientists Programme because each activity is meaningful and hands-on. Children really have an in-depth knowledge of the concepts and they can articulate it to their parents.

Terra Minds offers a wonderful curriculum with interesting topics complete with experiments for students to fully grasp science concepts. My daughter has been attending Terra Minds since she was four and lists this as her all-time favourite class. She looks forward to every class.

Young Scientist Programme (YSP) has engaged children in learning processes with hands-on activities through simple investigation by observing and gathering information of events using their 5 senses. They learned to articulate their predictions and outcome after exploration. The well-planned activities and application of the science process help to build on their cognitive skills through critical thinking, listening for the instruction and understanding of various concepts.
